Do you feel overwhelmed searching for the best Waikiki hotels? No worries, because we have compiled our favorite Waikiki hotels, and have even organized them by category. Many of these hotels and resorts are featured in our All-Inclusive Waikiki Oahu Vacation Packages. However, to keep it fair, we’ve also included some that aren’t.
Best Waikiki Hotels & Resorts Categories
Location
Waikiki is one of the most iconic beaches in the world. The Waikiki Beach resort district is approximately 2-miles long, and only 1/2 mile wide, at its broadest point. Its bordered by the Pacific Ocean And the Ala Wai Canal, including Kapiolani Park. Clearly, you’ll find it hard to be in a “bad” location, but some areas are more ideal.
It is our recommendation that your resort be in the center of Waikiki, whether it’s beachfront or not. The area from Kaiulani Avenue to Lewers Street is widely considered to be central Waikiki, as well as the most desired area.

Best Waikiki Hotels: Vibe
This category will help those of you interested in the vibe or “feel” of a hotel, not just the normal things people care about, like location and amenities. The hotels in this list capitalize on Hawaii’s retro tiki vibe, and the attention to detail is mind-blowing. Instagram-worthy options for sure.
One last thing, it’s easy to get caught up thinking you must have the best, most expensive and most luxurious resort in Waikiki. Indeed, those hotels are fabulous. It’s also important to note that you will be in paradise, and the best part of Hawaii is not found at any hotel. It’s found as you explore the island, meet the people and taste the cuisines. If you can’t swing the flashy resort, no worries! There’s still plenty to enjoy just being in Hawaii.
