Is an All Inclusive Hawaii Vacation a Group Tour?
Many of our potential clients ask us if our All-Inclusive Hawaii Vacation is a “group tour”. The short answer is no, but stick around as we go into further detail below.
What is a group tour package?
Since we’ve established that our all-inclusive Hawaii vacation packages are not a group tour, let’s define what a group tour is. Although not as prevalent as they once were, there are still group tour packages out there. Different companies offer variations, but the main premise is as follows:
- Group tour packages start on set dates throughout the year.
- Your hotels/resorts are set but the tour company, however, there is some flexibility in room categories.
- You don’t get to choose your activities and meals; those come pre-selected.
- You’ll be with the same people for the duration of your vacation.
Pros and Cons of a group tour package to Hawaii…
Every type of vacation has pros and cons, of course, so let’s talk about some of them.
Pros
- You’ll have everything organized and arranged for you.
- You have to decide on very little while in Hawaii.
- You will meet new people on the tour.
Cons
- You have very little say in your actual vacation. The tour company decides where you go, where you’ll stay and for how long.
- You don’t have much open time.
- You won’t be able to tailor your vacation to your preferences.
- You may spend your entire trip to Hawaii with people you don’t click with, or don’t want to be around.
How is an All Inclusive Hawaii Vacation different from a group tour?
Good question! Obviously, an all inclusive Hawaii vacation shares some similarities with a group tour package, but there are some pretty big distinctions.
To illustrate, let’s take a look at our 8 Day All-Inclusive Waikiki Beach Vacation. This package is not a group tour, but it is prearranged for you. Here are some of the ways it differs from a group tour package to Hawaii.
- You choose your own travel date. You can start your vacation whenever it’s best for you, not us.
- You have eight hotels/resorts to choose from.
- Each activity day has a variety of included activity options to choose from. Almost everything is customizable. Find out “What kind of Hawaii are you?” here.
- Some activities, such as the Island Exploration Tour, are a “group tour”. You will be with other people as you spend a fun day exploring paradise. However, you don’t have to be with them your entire trip.
- You have lots of free time. Outside of the activities and meals you’ve selected, your time is your own. There’s plenty of time to do things you want to do, such as lounging by the pool, hitting the beach, shopping, napping…the sky’s the limit!
- We do all the leg work for you. We only specialize in Hawaii, and have been doing so for over 40 years. We use the very best restaurants and tour companies, so you can rest assured you’re getting a great value for your dollar.
In other words, an all-inclusive Hawaii vacation is the best of both worlds. Everything is handled for you, before you ever get to Hawaii. That way you can focus on the experience, not the planning. Additionally, you have lots of open time, and your schedule isn’t micromanaged.
