It is our pleasure to create the perfect Hawaiian experience of your dreams.
How long should I visit Oahu?
For most visitors, anywhere between 4 and 7 nights is a good amount of time to spend on Oahu. If this is your first time visiting, you may want to consider staying on the seven-night end of the range. Even though there is much to see and do on Oahu, with careful planning you can cover a lot of ground.
You should allow one day/night for each of the following when deciding how long to visit Oahu:
Pearl Harbor:
Popular attractions are the USS Arizona Memorial, USS Missouri, Pacific Aviation Museum, visitors center & more. Stop by the Punchbowl Cemetery and round out the day exploring downtown Honolulu and Chinatown.
Spend an entire day in Waikiki:
Take time to relax and feel the allure of the most popular beach in the world. You can try your hand at surfing or hop on one of the colorful catamarans for a fun one-hour sail past Diamond Head. There’s no shortage of shopping in Waikiki – from haute couture to flea market finds and everything in between! Favorites are the International Marketplace and the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center. Kapiolani Park, home to the Honolulu Zoo and the Waikiki Aquarium, is an oasis at the eastern end of Waikiki, near the base of Diamond Head.
Snorkeling at Hanauma Bay:
Located on Oahu’s southeastern side, Hanauma Bay is a flooded, extinct volcano crater that showcases some of the best snorkeling in the world. Bonus points for being protected by lifeguards, offering showers, lockers, a snack bar and a tram for the uphill walk at the end of the day. Another standout snorkeling option on Oahu is the Windward Snorkel and Sandbar Adventure. Sail out to one of the largest sandbars in Hawaii for snorkeling, water volleyball and relaxing, and lunch is cooked onboard! Both snorkeling options will easily take up ¾ of your day.
Hiking:
Oahu offers some fantastic hikes, and you’ll want to set aside a day for one of them. Our top picks are Diamond Head, Manoa Falls and Makapu’u Lighthouse Trail. These hikes are suitable for beginners, as long as you don’t mind working up a sweat.
Take a drive around Oahu:
You’ll want to take a day and drive around the island! You can do it by rental car or guided tour –but this is not to be missed! Each side of Oahu (South Shore, North Shore, Windward (eastern) and Leeward (west side) is unique and beautiful. Check out this blog post for “driving Oahu” highlights.
Get cultured:
Take a deep dive into the rich and fascinating culture and history of Hawaii at the Bishop Museum. Visit the Honolulu Museum, known as HoMA, whose collection spans over 55,000 works of art. You can schedule an intimate tour of Shangri La. Shangri La is the former home of Doris Duke, and the only museum dedicated to Islamic art in the US.
