Who Is Aloha Hawaiian Vacations?

Quite literally, we’re a family-owned business. Brother, sister, mother, husband, wife, mother-in-law, cousins, childhood friends… Those who aren’t related are still hanai (family).

My dad founded Aloha Hawaiian Vacations in 1982. Dad was selling insurance at a well-known insurance provider, and he won a free incentive trip to Hawaii.  A self-described country boy from the tobacco fields of central North Carolina, visiting Hawaii always seemed like an unattainable goal. Therefore, he was determined to do and see as much as he could. He meticulously laid out his itinerary, and was amazed at how much he was able to do with careful planning. This fateful trip subsequently ignited his life-long love of Hawaii. As Dad earned more Hawaii trips, he increased the amount of things he was able to experience. Additionally, he began to make contacts in the Hawaii travel industry.

A Passion Was Ignited

As he continued to visit Hawaii, upon returning home friends and family began to turn to him for advice and help in planning their own Hawaiian vacation. Eventually, Dad realized this was his true passion and he left the insurance business and founded Aloha Hawaiian Vacations. I can remember those early years, when Mom and Dad would host a Friday night “slide presentation” at the Burlington office. Potential clients could come to hear about Hawaii, and learn about our All-Inclusive Waikiki Vacation Package (our original package) through a visual slide presentation. On a few occasions, much to my parents chagrin, they would discover I had gotten into the refreshments and have to scramble to replenish them. What can I say, I’ve always loved macadamia nuts!

Aloha Hawaiian Vacations Today

The Waikiki Beach All-Inclusive Vacation Package was our first package, and it remains our signature. Additionally, over the years, we’ve added additional Packages to our lineup. Hawaii has seen many changes since Aloha Hawaiian Vacations was started. The Hawaii of the early 1980’s lives on only in people’s memories, and our dad went to be with the Lord in 2016, but one thing has never changed. Our family’s commitment to connecting people to the magic of Hawaii remains as firm as ever. We hope you can experience it too!
