Aloha Bay – Oahu, Hawaii
There are few places on earth as beautiful and tranquil as Aloha Bay – which is situated on the southeastern shore of Oahu. Aloha Bay is located between the Wailupe Peninsula and the famous Kahala Mandarin Hotel & Resort in the Kahala District. The aqua blue waters of this secluded palm tree-lined bay are calm due to the protective reef which is approximately 600 yards offshore. The sunrises and sunsets seen from there are spectacular.
A portion of this bay is fronted by the world famous Waialae Golf Course and Country Club where the renowned Sony Open Golf Tournament is held annually and membership dues exceed $67,000. Situated along Aloha Bay are approximately 30 multi-million-dollar beachfront homes on land which was once part of the Waialae Golf Course. This exclusive residential beachfront haven is known as Kai Nani.
This was the location of King Kamehameha’s beach house retreat – who chose the area because of its beauty, tranquility and abundant source of seafood from several ancient fishponds which were found there. This bay is also where many scenes from the Magnum PI television series were filmed (“Rick’s Bar”), plus it was home to Jack Lord who played Steve McGarrett on the original Hawaii Five O. The view from Tom Selleck’s former Black Point home in Hawaii also includes this scenic bay.
Aloha Bay, which is home of one of Aloha Hawaiian Vacations’ home/offices, is truly one of the jewels of all of the Hawaiian Islands and every U.S. President from Lyndon Johnson to George W. Bush has stayed at this area’s world-famous resort, along with countless Hollywood stars, renowned musicians, prominent sports figures and world dignitaries – including Prince Rainier and Princess Grace, and Prince Charles and Princess Diana.
