A Slice of Paradise: Celebrating Hawaii This Earth Day
Hawaii is a place on Earth like no other. Not only is it a feast for the senses—it’s also a balm for the soul. Hawaii reminds us to go barefoot more often. To show aloha. To respect the ocean. To make time for beauty. To slow down and just…be. So this Earth Day, let’s just take a minute to appreciate this slice of paradise called Hawaii.
The Closest Thing to the Garden of Eden
My dad started this company way back in 1982, and he always said Hawaii was the closest thing to the Garden of Eden on earth. That always stuck with me, and I agree with him!
There’s something sacred about Hawaii—the waterfalls, the mountains, the ocean, the way the light hits everything just right.
It Calms the Soul
There’s something about the beauty of Hawaii that soothes the soul. Could be the waves. Maybe it’s how far away it feels from the rest of the world. It’s almost as if you’re wrapped up in a cocoon of peace and beauty.
It’s the Little Things
These are some of the things that stay stamped in my mind:
- Feeling the sand sink between my toes
- Watching a sea turtle drift through the shallows
- Hiking to a waterfall and hearing it before I see it
- Floating in saltwater that feels like a hug
- Looking up at a sky so full of stars it almost doesn’t feel real
- Watching clouds roll over volcanic mountains at golden hour
How blessed we are to live in a world that includes places like this!
